Speed Sprint
Speed Sprint Terms
Terms and conditions for PeakSpire’s 5 to 7 day website speed optimization service.
Last Updated: March 2026
These terms (“Sprint Terms”) apply to PeakSpire’s Speed Sprint service. They supplement the Master Services Agreement. In the event of a conflict, these terms take precedence for Speed Sprint engagements.
1. Service Description
The Speed Sprint is a focused performance optimization engagement lasting 5 to 7 business days. PeakSpire analyses your website’s performance, identifies bottlenecks, and implements optimizations to improve your Google PageSpeed Insights (PSI) score.
2. Deliverables
- Before/after performance report: PSI scores for all optimized pages, measured before and after the Sprint.
- Technical optimizations implemented: The specific changes made to your site, documented for your records.
- Core Web Vitals improvements: Targeted improvements to Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), and Total Blocking Time (TBT).
3. Measurement Methodology
- Performance is measured using the Google PageSpeed Insights API (Lighthouse).
- Both mobile and desktop scores are reported.
- Scores are captured under consistent conditions (same API version, same categories) for before/after comparison.
- The “before” baseline is captured at the start of the Sprint. The “after” measurement is captured upon completion.
4. What’s In Scope
Typical Sprint optimizations include:
- Image optimization and format conversion (WebP/AVIF)
- CSS and JavaScript optimization (minification, deferral, elimination of render-blocking resources)
- Font loading optimization
- Server-side caching configuration
- HTML optimization and cleanup
- Third-party script management
- Core Web Vitals targeted fixes
- Lazy loading implementation
5. What’s Not In Scope
- Hosting migration or server upgrades (recommended separately if hosting is the bottleneck)
- Redesigning pages or changing visual layout
- Content changes beyond what’s needed for performance
- Third-party plugin replacement or removal (we recommend, but the Client decides)
- Ongoing performance monitoring (available via the Care Plan)
- Elementor or page builder replacement
6. Score Targets and Disclaimer
Important: PageSpeed Insights scores are not static. They can fluctuate between tests due to:
- Network conditions during the test
- Server load at the time of testing
- Google’s testing infrastructure variability
- Changes to the Lighthouse scoring algorithm
- Third-party scripts loaded on your pages (analytics, chat widgets, advertising)
- Content changes made after the Sprint
While we consistently achieve significant improvements (our own site scores 100/100 on mobile), we cannot guarantee a specific score will be maintained indefinitely. The Sprint optimizes your site’s performance at the time of delivery. Maintaining that performance requires ongoing care (content discipline, plugin management, regular updates).
If a score target is agreed upon in the SOW and not achieved, PeakSpire will continue working at no additional cost for up to 5 additional business days to reach the target. If the target cannot be reached due to factors outside PeakSpire’s control (hosting limitations, required third-party scripts), we will document the limiting factors and recommend next steps.
7. Payment
- Full payment is required before the Sprint begins.
- Payment is processed via Stripe (payment link provided in the invoice).
- The Sprint fee is specified in the SOW or invoice.
8. Timeline
- The Sprint takes 5 to 7 business days from the date we receive full payment and website access.
- Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding Ontario statutory holidays.
- The Sprint pauses if PeakSpire is waiting for Client access or approvals. Paused days do not count toward the 5 to 7 day window.
9. Access Required
To perform the Sprint, PeakSpire needs:
- WordPress admin access (administrator role)
- Hosting control panel or SSH access (for server-level optimizations)
- Access to any relevant CDN or caching configurations
Credentials are handled securely and deleted from our systems after the Sprint concludes.
10. Post-Sprint Support
- The Sprint includes 7 days of post-delivery support for questions about the optimizations performed.
- If a performance regression occurs within 14 days due to something we did during the Sprint, we will fix it at no additional cost.
- Regressions caused by changes made by the Client or third parties after the Sprint are not covered.
11. Cancellation
- Cancellation before work begins: Full refund minus a $100 CAD administrative fee.
- Cancellation after work has begun: No refund. All work completed is delivered to the Client.
